Message to Leaders of Muslim States

To the Esteemed Leaders of Muslim States
Peace be upon you — السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

We write to you today with deep concern and a profound sense of urgency on behalf of countless members of the global Ummah who are witnessing with growing alarm the increasing attacks, ridicule, and institutionalized Islamophobia spreading across parts of the Western world, particularly in Europe & North America.

While we uphold and respect the universal principle of freedom of expression, we must affirm — as is commonly understood in any civilized society — that such freedom is not without ethical limits. It should never be used as a tool to incite hatred, provoke division, or trample upon the deeply held beliefs of any community. Freedom does not mean anarchy; it comes with the responsibility to respect the dignity and values of others.

Unfortunately, Islamophobia today has become a modern form of racism, not unlike antisemitism. And yet, it continues to be tolerated, even institutionalized, under the guise of free speech. We are witnessing inflammatory acts — including the desecration of the Holy Qur’an, slander of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, closure of mosques, bans on religious dress, and systematic marginalization of Muslims — all of which fuel resentment and alienation.

Too often, leadership in Western countries acts out of ignorance of the deep, sacred love Muslims hold for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the Qur’an. This misunderstanding fuels a dangerous cycle: when Muslims see their Prophet and Book insulted, pain leads to protest, which is met with further restrictions and crackdowns. This, in turn, creates fertile ground for extremists — on both sides — to exploit the chaos and deepen societal divisions.

In such an environment, we call upon you — the leaders of the Muslim world — to rise collectively and break this cycle of hate and reaction. It is time for united, clear, and strategic engagement with world powers, especially in the West, to demand the same respect for Muslim beliefs that others receive for theirs.

We must explain that, just as Holocaust denial is criminalized in many nations out of respect for Jewish pain, Muslim reverence for the Prophet ﷺ deserves equal protection. Our plea is not for censorship, but for mutual understanding and moral consistency.

As Muslims, our tradition upholds peaceful coexistence, as exemplified by the Covenant of Medina, which the Prophet ﷺ concluded with the Jewish tribes. Islam teaches us to honor all prophets — from Moses to Jesus to Muhammad — and to protect human dignity.

The time has come to reclaim the narrative. It is our duty to inform the world that Islam is a religion of peace, mercy, and balance — and that blasphemy and hate speech under the pretense of “freedom” cannot be normalized.

Let us act not in scattered voices, but as one united Ummah. Let us send a clear message: Muslims will defend their Prophet ﷺ with wisdom, dignity, and unity — not through violence, but through diplomacy, media, education, and moral clarity.

May Allah grant you strength, unity, and wisdom in this noble responsibility.

With respect and sincerity,
PBUH Management
